Surgery Complete!

Well, that was something. I just barely remember moving into the operating room, and was never in much pain - in fact, right now the bruises around my IV insert hurts more than anything to do with my gut.

Spent only one night in the hospital, so I'm hoping that keeps cost down. My parents have been great emotional support while my wife is at work, and I'm feeling good as gold - if only I could have some of those mashed potatoes!!!

Next job is to get my bowels moving. That'll me non-water liquids, which I'm going to start right now...

No longer a calendar, it's now a clock...

Yup.

Today the image changes. No longer thinking in terms of "days away"; now it is "hours away". At the time that I'm typing this, I'm about 12 hours away from waking up to drive into the hospital, and about 15 hours away from the surgery.

Pre-op Visits

So, all kinds of prep. Went to visit Kaiser, and got a run-down (and blood test) from the RN. Next was the sergeon's office for a 40 minute video, long talk with a nurse (that was probably check how committed I was...) then to the payment specialist. There's $1750 I'll never see again!

But if anything else, this has increased anxiety. Let's get this over!!!
